Textile Kultur Haslach 2017

This year the summer symposium of TEXTILE KULTUR HASLACH will be taking place between July 16 and 28, and will have the motto >Cultivated Plants<. Aspects of the historical linen culture which go beyond the simple extraction of the fibres will be taken up and will reveal the potential of the cultivated plant in moulding community and landscape.        files/Textile-Kultur-Haslach/content/fotos/Sommer 2017/3 Themenfotos pro Kategorie/kultur pflanzen_langesL_klein.jpg

Two exhibitions will be devoted to the theme: The German textile artist Veronika Moos will take us on an artistic search for traces of the linen plant in her exhibition in the spire of the Haslach church; Joachim Eckl takes up an element of traditional textile finishing drawn from natural processes in his action and special exhibition BLEACHING TIME. His contemporary approach allows for artistic interpretation.

An essential component of the summer symposium is, as always, the extensive programme of courses. In the former factory building of the Textile Centre and the newly renovated premises of the New Secondary School there will be a total of 22 courses, held by textile experts from several countries to pass on their knowledge of various textile techniques and creative methods. We hope there will be something to suit you!

The accompanying programme will also pick up the theme: There will be a shuttle to the neighbouring village of Putzleinsdorf to see the LINEN DRAPERS’ SAGA. As always, there will be the International WEAVERS' MARKET on July 22 and 23, and the yarn and material fair FASERZONE from July 21 to 23.

We encourage you to take up our offers, and look forward to an inspired textile summer and many interesting encounters.
